Statement

The complexity of phenomena in the world requires flexibility in the artistic vision and approach in asking fundamental and clearly defined questions. There are no fixed points to define the world around us. I am interested in the illusiory – the nature of illusions, the various layers of the illusionary world in all of its forms of appearance: visually, philosophically, thematically.

Artistic practice for me is research, a way of thinking, reflection, and self-reflection. I find pleasure in  thinking and using visual language as a tool to question, experiment, explore and penetrate – pleasure in using irony and paradox occasionally. I like when my work opens up for immersion in and has a touch of covert subtle humor.

I especially enjoy playing with mediums and techniques, changing them, and finding new challenges in every work. My focus is not the form or material or aesthetic. For me technique is more of a method: it does not determine meaning but supports it. I try to avoid repetition and find something I’ve never done, experiment with my abilites, explore the limits of my capacities, even if it brings more difficulties than familiar and safe solutions. Art for me is staying connected with  the genuine question’s conceptual and visual outcome.
