Vasiliki Gkotsi is a Greek born artist who has lived and worked in London for over twelve years. She obtained her Master in Painting at the Royal College of Art in 1999. She has developed a powerful approach on communication with the viewer, which is apparent through her personal work and is enacted in her paintings, installations, site-specific work and performances. She has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, at the BP portrait award in 2002 where she was commended and again, in 2003. She has exhibited with major artists internationally and her work is in private collections over the world. This year is included at the Summer Exhibition 2010 at Royal Academy of Arts.
Her involvement in education and especially with groups of vulnerable people, guide her to develop tailor made art programs according to their needs. She has designed a series of workshops to develop personal and interpersonal skills. She presented her model of communication at ‘The LMN workshop: building and retaining Talent’ in 2009 and she worked with LMN (London Metropolitan Network) on projects on communication within a working group through 2009-10.
