Alys Williams is an artist / scenographer creating multimedia installations, site-specific projects, sculptures, video and performance. She also creates sets, props and still-life for photography works, both editorial and advertising.
Alys uses multimedia disciplines to explore the convergence of performance, the object, text and image. Her work draws from autobiographical references with particular concern for the relationship of architecture on the narratives that arise from this; She explores the poetic qualities of the places we inhabit and constructs dialogues from her past and present encounters with these surroundings.
Her work has been exhibited international at venues including the Institute of Conetemporary Arts (ICA), Jerwood Space, UMAM D&R (Beirut) and Shunt Vaults.
In 2010, she set-up VITRINE GALLERY (London Bridge SE1) with Rennard Milner, for which they now co-direct and curate an ongoing programme of contemporary arts exhibitions and events.
