Jul, 2016 Harlem Postcards
Studio Museum in Harlem

Through a practice encompassing painting, installation, and video, I engage ideas of degeneration and regeneration, in the sense of physical materiality as well as in the sense of culture and identity. Identity is malleable and fluid; racial markers and gender codes are elasticized. My work is concerned with exploring the figure, language, and spaces in various states of wholeness and fragmentation, with modes of construction and deconstruction. Whether poetic, playful, or interrogative, my work employs a re-imaginative approach to questions of being, belonging, and transcending.
