I'm a self-taught artist. I've just begun exploring the world of painting with acrylics. I've formal training in accounting and business, with an MBA in Entrepreneurship. I spent most of the past 30 years doing corporate accounting, immersed in my career. Pushing numbers and computing answers and choking on spreadsheets. I really despised my life as a "bean counter", regardless of the career growth, promotions and all the rest of it.
I was a right-brained person in a left-brained world. I didn't fit.
I picked up a paintbrush and started painting in 2010. I don't know why I had to paint, but I had to paint. I have to paint. I continue to paint.
Painting is what I have left when all else is stripped away.
And in 2010 all else was stripped away.
It is through the experience of painting that life is illuminated. I am in heaven when I paint. I love color and the feeling of color around me. If I don't see the color I crave I paint that color on my canvas.
