Karla Black was born in Alexandria, Scotland, in 1972, and now lives and works in Glasgow. She studied at Glasgow School of Fine Art, where she took a BA in sculpture, an MPhil in Art in Organisational Contexts and an MA in Fine Art. Her work has been the subject of several solo shows around the UK and Germany since 2002, and has featured in numerous group shows, including at the Saatchi Gallery. She is represented by Modern Art in London and Galerie Gisela Capitain in Cologne.
