I am a self-taught artist. I have done landscapes and skyscapes and would like to do more in the future. Right now, I am having fun with mythology - with juxtaposing western gods and goddeses with eastern: Hindu/Buddhist symbols to refresh them and to shake up one's perception of them. I am greatly influenced by the Renaissance artists: Domenico Ghirlandaio, Botticelli, Fra Angelico, Michelangelo, Raphael, and many, many others.
I am also a novelist, or as the new saying goes, an 'Indie Author', in that I publish my own work and seek out my own audience via the internet, courtesy of lulu.com, where all of my fantasy novels can be found. Four of them are available regularly from amazon.com: The Jinniyah, A Good Villain, and the connected set of novels - Deus Ex Machina: a Divine Comedy and The Hunter of the Dead(...and the Kiss of Persephone). D.E.M. is a flat out comedy. The Hunter of the Dead is a dramatic, erotic revisitation of the myth/legend of Hades and Persephone.
I am currently posting a series of essays about the work I've been doing and the ideas and inspirations behind them at Live Journal:
