Michelle Hannah is a Glasgow based Artist and was born in the early eighties in Alexandria, Scotland. A female from birth, she has spent most of her time being concerned with the darker recesses of the human psyche.
After gaining a Master of Fine Art from Glasgow School of Art her work has now developed into an abyss, one that encompasses the great themes of gothic art and science fiction, to convey terse, provocative, and morally ambiguous work, and to use this to create a complete dystopian image. Her mode of address is varied and is defined by the use of propositions and the absence of corroborating evidence or narrators. To invite us, to believe in a world of the ‘other’ rather than that offered to us by instrumental reason. A provocation, to make the impossible possible, to make a language of the void seem real through corporate seduction.
