Born in Aachen, Germany
At the age of 8, Rolf was given his first camera by his dad. Since then he has produced thousands of images. After studying Design, Art and Photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen, Germany, he was picked by Wilhelm Schuermann as one of six promising young photographers in Germany and showed his work at the renown Gallery Rudolf Kicken, in Cologne (today Berlin).
Following his studies, Rolf worked internationally for almost 20 years as a Creative Director for Europe’s largest fashion retailer as well as other clients in Germany and the USA.
His work has gained recognition through numerous national and international awards in both Europe and the USA.
In 1999 he founded the OMC Communication LLC, a company offering Creative Service.
and established together with his wife RoxAnn Madera the OMC Gallery for Contemporary Art in Duesseldorf, Germany.
Between 2000 and 2004 Rolf has also taught Design Management and Interdisciplinary Creation as an Associate Professor at the University for Applied Sciences in Aachen, Germany.
Since late 2004 they live in Southern California and the OMC Gallery is now located in Huntington Beach.
Cooperating with about 25 artists, mainly photographers, from around the world, Rolf has curated more than 50 exhibitions in Germany and the USA and represented the artists on international art fairs in Paris, Cologne, Rotterdam, Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Duesseldorf.
