I received my BFA in Advanced Painting from The School of the Art Institute in 1999 and my MFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2003.
My professional work history includes being a director for three very well respected contemporary Los Angeles art galleries – Christopher Grimes Gallery, Anna Helwing Gallery, and Steve Turner Contemporary. I continue to curate independent exhibitions and projects. In August of 2013, I opened an alternative gallery called 2A Gallery.
2A Gallery is an independent artist/curator-run project designed to utilize a particularly unique space as a venue for creative production and exhibition. 2A Gallery occupies a small office space in a renovated downtown building. Each exhibition has an opening and closing reception. Otherwise, the space is open by appointment by emailing calvin@2AGallery.com or calling 213.924.3472.
I am also working on a photography portfolio project called A3x10.
