RAY CALVIN WORTHAM work as a documentary phototgrapher concerns itself with geographical location. In recent years he has photographed in the Los Angeles area. Many of these photographs are enviromental portraits of people interacting with each other and their enviroment and are un-posed, unstaged photographs that captures, explores or question contemporary society and the relationship between individuals and thier surroundings. "I believe my role as a photographer is to merge art and geography in a way that conveys a sense of place while producing the highest quality craftsmanship possible".
BIO & RESUME
Ray Wortham is a respected and influential artist in the field of documentary photography. After traveling extensively in Italy, Spain, Algeria and,Tunisia he has developed a high degree of compassion for the diverse cultures that are reflected in his pictures. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography from San Francisco State University and graduate status at Otis College of Art and Design. He has been the recipeint of numerous artistic awards and has exhibited his exemplary work in muesums and galleries. He is a contributing photographer to Demotix news agency and has published photo-essays and portraits in such publications as Fotovisura magazine.
