Nicholas Pujdak

Born in 1960 in Arcadia, California, Nicholas Pujdak is one of four first generation sons of European immigrants. His mother, a retired dress designer, hails from England, and his father, an architect from Warsaw, Poland, is an entrepreneur who built his own successful business. Nicholas currently resides in Pasadena, California.

Nicholas grew up in San Gabriel, California, and showed gifting for drawing and painting at an early age. He has studied at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, an Art School in Oahu, Hawaii, the Creative Arts Group in Sierra Madre California, and has studied with various mentors. He is known among local artists and his current art reflects his love for nature’s beauty. He derives much of his inspiration from the earth and sea, using oil and acrylic on canvas. Some of his favorite artists are Mark Rothko, Seurat, and Wolf Kahn.

Nicholas has worked in clay, wood, watercolors, pen and ink, pastels, acrylics & oils. Nicholas has also worked with a prominaent local artist on a large scale wood carving, as well as working in several pottery shops as a designer.

Being a natural sportsman and growing up in California, he became extraordinarily in tune with nature and his surroundings. He took up surfing asa teenager surfing up and down the Baja Peninsula, Hawaii, as well as all over the California coastline. Hollister Ranch above Santa Barbara, California is his favorite surfing spot. His absolute favorite beach is Carmel, California which he has nicknamed "The Shire".

Nicholas has traveled throughout the United States, as well as Canada and Australia.
