Creating Art has come naturally for Chandle Lee since he was a child growing up in the culturally and ethnically diverse country of Malaysia, where he was born. Working both as an architect and an artist, Chandle finds that the precise and exacting discipline required in his architectural work and the influences he has gained as a citizen of the world has informed his work in painting, drawing, and sculpture.
A fluent English speaker, Chandle grew up speaking four Chinese dialects as well as Malay, the official language of Malaysia. Chandle came to the US as a foreign student after high school, and obtained a BS in Architecture degree from Arizona State University and a Master in Architecture degree from the University of Michigan. Chandle has been practicing in the profession of architecture for almost 20 years, starting in San Francisco Bay Area and then New York City, where he relocated to pursue his artistic passions in the fine arts. He has also worked in Shanghai, China. Beside being a practicing architecture professional, Chandle has also taught architectural design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. These days, he is dividing his time and energy between architecture and his fine art creations.
