As an artist, Jeff Ribaudo has been exhibiting his work for the past fifteen years in and around Southern California. Ribaudo’s current body of work focuses mainly on the modern concept and utility of paper, an underappreciated medium, essential to everyday life. Ribaudo emphasizes that his work is “derived from the idea that paper, while fragile and temporary, is a substance regarded as almost useless in value, but vital to everyday life”. The work explores the central theme of repetition using paper as his chief medium. In his work, Ribaudo strives to “make beauty from the most mundane and unexpected” by “combining the ideas of the frailty of paper with our dependence on it, along with the unnecessary overproduction of mundane items”. Ribaudo’s mostly abstract work features bright geometric patterns with collage elements, and repetitive geometric work.
