I am a multidisciplinary artist working in a variety of media: architecture, video, drawing and installations. My professional interests began with the integration of art and architecture and gradually moved towards installation arts.
I am interested in creating art that integrates space, artifacts, digital technology, and people. Rather than creating objects, I am involved in creating experiences that will enable viewers to enter the space of the artwork and become an integral part of it.
The questions of how one experiences art and what spatial conditions support those experiences are instrumental in my work. I am attentive to the sensorial qualities of a space as defined by light, sound and touch; how these engage the body first and how these physical sensations affect what is perceived by the mind.
In my current work, I am trying to bring awareness of underrepresented living creatures. I create translucent drawings of neglected people, endangered species, and disappearing languages, and I superimpose upon them images and videos from the public world. My drawings and my installations are experimental conceptions of new realities in which the representational and real, visceral and unknown, are of equal value. The new reality equalizes the hidden and the objective in a new personal space defined by the viewer.
