Born in Marseille, Aleksia.M (aka Alexia Maramenides) comes from a multi-ethnic cultural background with her mixed origins: Greek, Vietnamese and Catalan.
She has also travelled a lot, lived 10 years in Africa, and did long stays in Mediterranean countries.

Aleksia.M is a globetrotter and it is not surprising to find in her paintings the sharp
and luminous colors of the south of France, where she grew-up.She studied visual communication
and graphic design in Aix-en-Provence, before becoming a graphic designer in Paris, where she actually lives. On her paintings and abstract compositions, she mixes acrylic pigments directly on the canvas
and uses rough, primary colors in a style inspired by the graphic urban universe.

She uses emotions of everyday life and finds her inspiration in music and dance.
Energy and movement are the principal characteristics of her paintings.
She is unceasingly in search for new emotions to express, new techniques and themes to explore,
new supports to test, new colors to try…
