Statement

Kirsten Bengtson-Lykoudis is a freelance writer, photographer and college instructor of photography and photo history. She has a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of South Florida, Tampa, attended New College of Sarasota, Florida, the University of Minnesota, the University of California at Santa Cruz and the University of Leningrad. She is the former Director of Steven Kasher Gallery in New York and was Associate Director of Edwynn Houk Gallery. She was a freelance Exhibitions Editor for Focus Magazine and spent a year as Studio Manager for the photographer, Clifford Ross.

In the late 1990’s, she was on-site coordinator for the USF Summer Art Program in Paris and in 2000, taught a narrative photography workshop at the Art School of the Aegean on the island of Samos, Greece. She reviews New York and Miami exhibitionsfor artslant and her writing and photographs have been published in the Pinhole Journal. She lives and works in New York City and Sarasota, Florida.
