Catinca Tabacaru

Catinca is a curator and art consultant working in New York City.

Born in Romania, Catinca was a lover and student of art from a young age.  She spent her early years studying art history and traveling around the globe learning about art.

In 2003 catinca began dealing in fine art.  She spent three years buying Romanian art for corporations and private collectors in North America, Europe and Japan. At the time, she specialized in modern oil painting and glass sculpture.

Catinca then decided to continue her formal education and obtained her juris doctorate and masters with a focus on art law and intellectual property.  While earning her degrees, Catinca combined her art career with her legal endeavors and spent time working in East Africa, Italy and China.

In 2009, after two years at a New York law firm, Catinca returned to the fine art world and started consulting and curating.  She focuses on contemporary art, moving fluidly between mediums and specializing in abstract painting, street art, photography and sculpture.
