Winner of The Artist of The Year Award 2010 (Artists & Illustrators Magazine, UK), Valery Koroshilov is a figurative painter based in London and exhibiting internationally.
Recent studio work is mainly commissioned by the private and corporate clients. Recent projects include P&O Cruises, where the designers of the UK’s biggest luxury superliner Ventura commissioned him 36 paintings and murals. Dame Helen Mirren officially opened it in 2008 in Southampton.
The first critical acclaim came with a body of work known as ‘Architectural Impressions’, ILC Honourable Award New York (1992). Since then the artist participated in more than 100 exhibitions worldwide. Recent solo shows include Standard Chartered Bank, London (2009) and Baker Tilly HQ, London (2010).
Valery Koroshilov is renowned for paintings distinguished by a bright palette, reserved imagery and flat areas of strong colour. These pictures earned the artist a reputation of a Contemporary Master (“Art In London” Magazine, 2008).
Explaining his approach, the artist says, - I believe the context of a painting only matters if it’s inspired by the poetic intuition, and therefore, it is addressed to the poetic perception. The ideas and concepts, as they apply to art, never really interest me.
