Charmaine Felix-Meyer

My work is a material investigation of the domestic space as a site for construction, reflection and inscription.  I am exploring a notion of the container (both corporeal and architectural) as a site, a limit and a residue in relation to loss and excess, femininity and desire.  Informed by an examination of language and structures defined by difference, my work interrogates the way meaning is constructed through projects that traverse the lines between the visible and invisible, inside–outside, presence–absence, passive–active, masculine–feminine, subject–object, revealing the lived experience as a construction and holding a mirror to its own process.
