My my work is abstract. It penetrates through the obvious and the retinal in Nature and seeks the Meditative and the Mysterious. It is an inward journey from form to the Formless. The Stillness that is all pervading and underneath everything is what i want to sink into.
However i can relate to this Silence only through landscape.therefore my work has a strong resonance of landscape
I use strong colors. This I think is intrinsically an Indian sensibility. The strong vermillion on our dieties: Ganapati and Hanuman, for example seeps into my consciousness when I work. As do strong colors of our folk art, Indian miniatures and Indian tantric art.
The plains of North India with their long streches of yellow mustard flowers and greenery interpersed with clusters of brown huts shaped my sensibilities during the years I spent growing up.
My adult life has been in Peninsular India. Red and black soil and the clouds floating over The Western Ghats are so immensely beautiful.
My work is an expression of my love affair with Nature.
I have had eight one person shows and any number of participations in shows with reputed galleries and group shows with stablished artists
