I work as an artist, designer, illustrator and educator. I teach computer art and design classes at Cal State University Long Beach and Mission College. My work is hard to pin down because I move freely between ideas and approaches but themes constantly repeat such as connections. Contrasting structures in nature to those in our post-post-modern urban environments is also a theme that constantly crops up. I am also deeply interested in process and the intersection between painting and photography. I use photography, painting, sculpture, collage and digital media. I have to say that I go through waves of certainty and waves of feeling I have no idea what I'm doing. However, as I get older that no longer troubles me. Making art is messy, if it starts to all come together in a nice neat package that makes perfect sense then you have to start to worry.
