Catherine Bennaton

Native California artist, Catherine Bennaton earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from California State University, Northridge. Catherine has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums in California. She has been included in exhibits at the Ventura Art Museum, Laguna Art Museum and Oceanside Art Museum and the Zimmer Children’s Museum. Her painting and artworks are included in many public and private collections from California to France.

In talking about her work Bennaton says,” I use images borrowed from art history and popular culture. I like to recombine different artists, different styles and different time periods in the same work to tell a new story.” The result is a surrealistic assemblage of familiar images. The working process explores the confusion between reality and originality.
