Statement

Primarily a figurative oil painter, Andy Haynes’ work is his outlet for releasing internal emotions and energy.  Haynes’ work focuses thematically around contemporary morality, both in its beautiful and often dark moments.  Through the use of ambiguous narrative and subconscious symbolism, Andy lays out an honest map of which he strives for the viewer use as a guideline and find a relation to.  His paintings take the viewer on a journey of life and touch on the experiences that create it.  By exploring human nature, contrasting techniques of oil painting and art history, Andy strives to continue expanding his vision and enriching others.  Andy lives in Los Angeles with his wife Megan and their cat Rainbow.
