ArtSlant is an open, web 2.0 platform.  We allow the general public to register and contribute content.  ArtSlant has many checks in place to monitor content, oversee problems, and help our users.

>Email Spam Received from ArtSlant Profile

On each ArtSlant Profile, we provide an Email this Artist feature for registered users.  This feature is activated when you enter your email address into our basic add form while completing your Profile.  The Profile owner's email address is never made public.

Unfortunately, some people take advantage of this and try to send spam.  Always be cautious when receiving email from someone you don't know!

Report any suspected spam to ArtSlant immediately.  Do not respond to suspected spam.  Send the spam email to us and we will immediatley investigate!  artslant_info@artslant.com

To turn off Email this Artist feature, go into Edit Basic Profile in the Change box on the right. Remove your email address. This way, the "email this Artist" function will not work and no one can email you from your Profile.

>Annoyance or Abuse in Comments

The ArtSlant Comments feature allows artists, curators, art buyers, and art lovers to interact with each other, offer support or opinions, and make connections.  As with our Email features, sometimes people try to take advantage of this to Spam people.  Please immediately report any spam Comments.  We block the User and remove the comments.

You can easiy remove a given Comment on your profile by clicking on [remove] next to the title of the Comment.

You can easily block all Comments from your Profile by going to the Settings tab on your Profile page (at the far right) and adjusting your permissions.

>Annoyance or Abuse Problems

Please immediately report any annoyance or abuse problems.  While ArtSlant cannot control the general public, we can remove users from the site if deemed appropriate.  It is suggested that you not respond directly to anyone who is bothering you.  artslant_info@artslant.com
