Four colorful landscapes by Indian painter URMIL JAIN form a part of the onging 'MAZE OF MILIEU' exhibition at Agora Gallery. At Art Murmur there is a group show about once a month and the artist run the gamut but what was special about this show was the lack of figurative work. Lui Shtini’s paintings are technically perfect; flat and photorealist, plastic paintings. However, the iconography seems purposefully strange. There is a disconnect in the compulisvity of the painting and the unobsessive subject matter. The weirdness seems almost insincere, I secretely suspect the artist is hamming it up to be a more "conceptual" artist. I spent this Saturday visiting several art fairs going on in New York City with my dear friend Rex and Sharon Reaves of San Francisco's Reaves Gallery:
