I saw these artists when they were a part of "Heroes for Autism" a fund raiser for "Autism Speaks" at the Avalon in Hollywood.
That was an extraordinary show and I can't wait to see what new works these artists have created since. I regretted not buying a piece by Casey Metcalfe then, so I am hoping it will be there.
This show is absolutely worth a visit. The work is both collectible and different from anything else out there. Not to mention it benefits an amazing cause. [more]

You showed some of these gorgeous watercolors before, Sam. I wanted one then, I want one now. I still can't afford them, or the fantastic video that went with them. Why do you torture me so? I'm a good person. I work hard. I really do think you should give me one of these because it will make my life so much better. [more]

I was really excited to see PART2ISM'S work after hearing so much about it from England... especially after seeing it in the London Street Art Anthology (check it out on amazon) - This is his (Part2ism) first time here in north america apparently... the other work in the show - while not 'street art' was solid - kind of incredible actually... very different from anything I've ever seen - anywhere... but it somehow works fabulously together. just get up out of your chair and GO SEE THE SHOW! Our show consisted of 3 events in 3 separate spaces within one venue (THE GREEN TURTLE Whittier, CA). A gallery space, a patio with live graffiti artists, and the main bar with live bands and rappers on stage. Our theme "URBAN GRAVITATION" was inspired to bring in artworks and music that expressed some aspects of urban life. Becau... [more]

Simon Forti has danced through the last forty years of contemporary art like a Zelig of modern movement. After studying with Anna Halprin, Merce Cunningham, and Martha Graham and becoming a pioneering member of the Judson Dance Theater, Forti went on to become a rare choreographer who’s variety of activities led to her contributing to Artforum, performing Dance Constructions in Yoko Ono’s loft, and collaborating with minimalist composer Charlemagne Palestine. Her practice always worked between so... [more]

At its modern inception, the relationship between text and art is wrapped up in revolutionary politics (Futurists and Surrealist manifestoes regularly hurling their defiance at the stars) and literarature (Breton, Tzara, Stein, all breaking, bending, and finding writing to respond or sometimes help invent trends in visual art). Language breaks down and become the shattered Dada collage of nonsense and concrete poetry or the visual collapses into the manifesto, saying and doing often what pictures c... [more]
