I've been on for a while. I've seen no increase in traffic to my site and I've had very few replies to the numerous comments I've made in an attempt to network. So how do other people seem to benefit from ArtSlant?

Hi Tony!

I think the artists that get the most dramatic spikes in their webpage visits are those who are advertising in the vertical scroll.  Besides that, some of the best ways to get people to your page--keep posting new works, maybe start a blog, and if you use other social networks, like Facebook or Twitter, let your friends and followers know you're on Artslant.  The artists who enter our Juried competitions also get a lot of coverage, and it's a great way to get to know other artists on the network.

As always, if you have any suggestions or comments for the team you can contact us!

I've only just joined Artslant, but I have tried a number of different portfolio sites over the last few years, and found them all to have the same fault. Nearly all the enquiries they generate turn out to be from other artists. It is nice to hear from other artists, but the main objective of promoting your work online has to be to get in touch with potential customers. I will try Artslant's salesroom in the near future, but I won't be expecting much success. It's a shame, because the site looks really nice and the reviews and interviews I've read have been very interesting. I will try their salesroom, but my opinion is that you should not realistically expect any of the art portfolio sites to generate sales or put you in touch with customers.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your comments--it's good to get this feedback.  We here at Artslant are trying to do things differently.
The ArtSlant SalesRoom is breaking new ground.  Unlike other websites, we attract many thousands of serious art buyers and collectors daily from the US and all over the world. Additionally, we advertise extensively world wide, bringing in collectors and buyers to the SalesRoom.  Our SalesRoom is dedicated to the professional artist. We only offer the finest in original work, Giclee prints and 100% archival materials. Our mission is to enable our artists to succeed and that includes everything from international exposure to exhibition opportunities, to our team of Art Consultants who do the selling for our artists, and smooth the way for our buyers.

I have had the same problems as Peter in the past with other sites I have joined. Often your artwork gets lost amongst the thousands of other pictures on the site. I have just joined this site as it was recommended by someone I was speaking to today at art club.

From Ben Originals message it looks as if they are trying to get your work seen by buyers which is really great in what are really difficult times. I have just put some of my work in an exhibition at my Art Club, however I am being told by established artists and gallery owners that sales are very slow at the moment (UK), a lot of visitors to the area but not many parting with their money, everyone is worried about the future.

I agree with the comments. It is very hard to get noticed, especially when there is so much art available. I think the art world may be still experiencing the effects of the GFC with visitors to galleries etc down along with purchases. I hope it will pick up soon!

Cheers, Lisa.

I just joined and do not really expect to sell much although I have my work for sale here.

And for $5 a year its a steal!

I am on other sites and sell a bit now and again, I really join online sites for the exposure more than anything, the more people see my work the better the chance of future sales.

My creations have appeared in books and magazines, calenders, also used in art classes in schools, I give demonstrations & talks about my work.

Its really just a matter of getting your work noticed..

I did start out as a photographer, at shows everyone had the same stuff.

So I decided to leave the planet and produce images of futuristic worlds.

"May you always create well and prosper"

David.

Hi everybody! I like Artslant, but I wish they made easier for the artists to understand  if it is a scam where somebody is sending  i-mail about purchasing a painting. May be they should provide a list with the artists consultants names, so I don't have to wonder for example if  Kaye Noble is a Artslant consultant /I wish/, or not.

Hello Antoaneta. I have just put up my art here, but I have been following the site for some time. Do you receive regular emails for Artslant.? There was one recently, featuring their consultants, and Kaye Noble was definitely on of them!

Lisabelle .

Hello:

I just purchased the scroll for one image, and can't seem to find it anywhere.  I have checked the major cities?  A little confused about where the artwork is seen on which cities page or what have you?  Thank you for any clues. Lisabelle
