Does it not borther my fellow artist of the terms of agreement with Artslant and other art site where artist work is sold:

Artslant provision 14:

a) License Grant. You retain all copyrights to your Artworks and other Artist Content; provided, however, you grant to us a non-exclusive, transferable, worldwide, royalty-free license to (i) reproduce and sell reproductions of your Artworks (and cropped or re-sized modifications thereof) to the extent you elect to offer such Artworks for sale, and (ii) digitally reproduce, publicly display and otherwise utilize your Artworks (and watermarked, cropped or re-sized modifications thereof) and other Artist Content to advertise, market, promote, and publicize your Artwork, the Website and our other offerings in any reasonable manner, provided, however, that we shall not be required to so advertise, market, promote or publicize.

This article  gives complete control to artslant to the use of your work. PERIOD this is the same with zazzle and other site. Does this NOT brother artists? What is your opinion???

perhaps it is meant to mean that should you not enter the showcase and pay your due, your artwork will be sold as a postcard or print on a pair of underpants (which is what AA's 'art' would be good for)

Hello, and thank you for your comments.  As you have noticed, this article is standard in most websites that are producing fine art prints with the permission of the artist who provides the image to be printed.  It is included in the Terms so that we have the right to print one of your works for sale should there be a buyer...it actually protects ArtSlant during the process of printing the work.  It is NOT intended to trick the artist, or to allow ArtSlant to sell your work without your knowledge or without paying you for same. Whenever there is a buyer for any art work on ArtSlant, the artist receives full compensation for the sale once it is completed.  If the artist wishes to remove their work from the SalesRoom, they may do so at any time.  While we understand that there is some concern about selling fine art prints of your work online, the fact is that it has become common practice among independent artists as well as galleries.  More and more artwork is being sold online and the process tends to be very secure (just as with all other products being sold online.)  We hope this helps to alleviate any concerns you may have about ArtSlant or the online sales process for fine art prints.

Cheers,

Ben
