Hello Herco,
After looking at your work, in the large slide show, I feel sad and depressed. The dark colors just brings down my emotional levels to dispair and frustration. I also notice little detail, witch I like, so I can fill in with my eyes.
"The Prayer", I see is the only piece that has any vibrant color.
You have no statement. Please, in your words, tell me about yourself since I have gotten to know you through your art.
Sincerely,
Jin Hwang

Hi,
if you feel sad and depressed , perhaps were you in this statement before? because I AM NEVER IN THIS CASE. FOR ME BLACK AND WHITE ARE THE COLOURS OR NO COLOURS IF YOU WANT THAT REALLY EXPRESS SIMPLICITY AND CLEARNESS.
I practise Martials Arts for a long time and Black White and Red are the colours of these arts , for me . but I accept your feeling becaause of the freedom in Art.
You have not to be sad or depressed. Look reaaly inside some of my works and You will find another thing that sadness. I want to expresse power, vigour, self sacrifice and rationnal disinterest . So be happy and cool. nothing sad in my works above all with the sad world which is around us.

Herco,
I am pertty sure I felt that way after looking at your artwork. That's just how I feel. I am not saying that is your state of mind. I have no idea what your are thinking. I am not a mind reader. Anyway, you wanted a critic. I am not saying your painting sucks or anything like that. I see and think in color, so when I see your work, that's just how I feel.
It is obvious that you put passion into your art. You shouldn't care what I think anyway. What's important is what you think of your own artwork. Your work is abstract or abstract expression. Very subjective to the viewer. I happen to write a blog about it (There Are No True Abstractions) check it out and let me know what you think.
No hard feeling, Herco.
Sincerely,
Jin Hwang

No problem Jin,
I accept all your critics, this is the reason of a free art. But If I can, I want to explain to you my real feeling in my works. I will look for your blog indeed and will write on it. Because, perhaps we have no true abstraction in art. So what is abstraction indeed?? Justs what we want to do or not to do. In abstraction, you can watch what you want and not really what the artsis or any people is watching for. This is the reason and everyone is in measure to appreciate or not. But you are right when you say that you were not in my mind. This is the problme sometimes with critics. They are not so objectvie in theit case, it is not your case, because they are noly looking for the form and absolutely not inside. So they go too far away from the truth of the artist.
Some of your works are very deep and suggestive. But perhaps too colours for me, even if sometimes I work with clear colours. Look for the next in the month.
Give me your email, or write me on mine, I will send you other works more coloured I did before.
So long my friend

Hi Herco...I took a look. Is it a new profile pic you have got?....I can see a striking similarity in your profile pic with your latest works. As the artist matures, their physical face starts to shine in their works. One sees this with the masters. While I am not comparing your work to any master, Herco, I express a similarity here. A natural progression that happens when the artist is expressing from the truth about themself. His physical appearance is not seperate from the world. And the artwork reflects this understanding.
This work speaks about structures that give the appearance of solidity but give way to the space around them. The strong contrasting colour, especially where you have used black, accentuates the tension between structure and space.
In particular, Bite N°4, the horizontal line at the bottom of the painting speaks about the division between structure and space. The painting below that line, has no known definition...so the line immediately accentuates it, like a barrier. The unknown broken by a barrier and as the eye moves up the picture, abstract gives way to figurative and an atmosphere is set.
This approach has revealed something about the artist and his environment. A shift of perception.
Thankyou for telling me about your latest works Herco.

Hi my friend, I just want to tell you that you are right, I always or almost tray to work with the structures, the formsand the space. And like you in your works I looked for, We can both place these three things as we want even if for le most of people it will be the wrong way. For us, working like we do means that we ar totally free to do works as we are fixing our own limits in the different divisions. So I would like to say that our work is not obligatory easy to understand if you dont searche to really go across the canvas and see any details which should be not seen by somebody who is thinking that he is visiting a nice exposition for an hour and after stop, no memento of nothing.
So, I answer to you or not, don't hesitate to tell me. I put three other works. And to get me a few plaesure because of the spring, andalso to get pleasure to Jin, I added others colours that are more "living".
Hello to Italy, my second country in heart 5and also some originss by my grandmother)
