Hi, I dissassemble algorithmic patterns and fill the gaps with new patterns. Thereby emerges a complex structural, which I superpose with artificial or natural textures and turn this into a sophisticated surface by means of exposure and distortion.

medium: laserprint on alu-dibond.

I would like to hear what you think about my works.

Hello Benjamin,

Reading about your process is almost more interesting than actually looking at the works.. or perhaps after reading about the process, whereby color isn't mentioned, i look at the works and wonder how you come to choose those colors, or if you choose them.  The works themselves seem less about texture and surface (which you talk about in the process) and more about color.  I'd really like to learn more about it though.

Hi Ben,

I should have mentioned that I speak of exposure to light, which gives the surface its color. The exposure is driven by my inner voice. At some point it tells me "Stop!" the surface shall have this color . So it happens that it has the color which it has. Its rather brainstorm than contemplation. What I call surface is the entire composition -  matter, texture and color.

Your first image, Antplant, has a sensuality and depth that is highly appealing.  The shapes have nice volume and the nooks and crannies offer mystery and interest.  This work has a feeling of luxurious surface, much like a finely worked painting.  Thanks for sharing.  The Team

Thank you for your words. This is the first time somebody writes something so nice about my art.

Ok, I called it Walking Alone because it reminded me of walking alone in the Isarauen, what I used to do.

How does walking alone look inverted?

Inverted it does actually look like it is there. I did not know this before now.
