An interesting group, though I feel like this debate was settled in the Renaissance or earlier!  Let's see if we can stir up some conversation on Facebook.

Cheers,

Ben

as you read this forum, you are nude, clothed yet nude...cant escape that one. Beauty, of course has nothing to do with what is being seeing. Beauty, is an expression of what you just cant put your finger on....so say that its beautiful,,,say that it is profound. So is the nude really beautiful...well not really. What are you looking at other than what appears as the past?. No, the body is not really here...only looks like it. Is it beautiful...you could say so...does'nt mean anything other than fantasy.

And this is not a matter of opinion, this be very similar in wording...a wording that comes from observation. Whos the observor?...the same one as what is seen to be beautiful. A small tip...take everything further and dont stop, dont get concluded by what you see, what you've been told by an one including your brain....and record this. Its known as 'art'.

Sure nudity needs to be born but not to exist.

I think that we cant describe" naked representation "by" art." Personally, I always thought that art is behind reality, and beauty is not what we see but above all is what we think and change. For exemple, we dont need to see each other to judge or criticise our works, our works proves our existance . So`the body` in art is here we like it or not.

As someone who prefers to work in the ABSTRACT, rather than in the nude, I'm not sure I see the urgency of this discussion. As stated earlier, this debate was settled a very long time ago, and anyone resisting nude art today has to be very right wing. I would also argue that FORM is the key, not nudity. But this point was also settled a very long tome ago - the debate was called 'Modernism'.

Conflict  between  R e l i g i o n & A r t..

Religion owns nature  4 " G o d "  has  created.. can we say ARTistic creation i s not from G O D..

L e t 's  say; I  do  make   a   B r e s t   from  m y  chin   -using cut & paste-  ...Then this " brest " of ART is not the B r e s t of R e l i g i o n..

T h e  meaning  o f  " C O N T E M P O R A R Y ";  i n   A R T,,  has to  b e  ,something like   T H A T..
