Aislinn Lowry

This piece was inspired by a walk I took through the woods.  I was examining different plants and determining their botanical names.  I found this bush of rose hips and was stunned by the way the light hit the berries and the trees in the background framed the picture.  I used loose watercolor washes to suggest the blurs strong lighting creates, balanced by the clear detailed dry-brushwork on the berries and parts of the plant that were closer to me.  I hoped to successfully capture my feelings about this scene and the majestic beauty in the world around us. 

This piece is currently framed in golden textured wood, behind plexiglass for safe shipping.  The painting is double matted in acid free white on white.  Different matting and framing is available upon request, please inquire about additional matting colors before purchasing.
