Description
Original oil painting 40 x 60" (sold). A winter scene at Rockwell Station, Chicago, with sun setting - CTA riders to the Northside will be familiar with this quinessential Chicago experience.
Painted in 2009, intended to have the sublime feel of a more traditional landscape painting. A solitary figure makes their way toward the station exit - thinking of painting 'The Sower with Setting Sun' by VanGogh (based on Millet's 'Sower') - the person is coming home from work, but its a deskjob instead of physical labor. The person is still connected to nature, if only for this moment - in transit from home to office to home again.
