GALERIE 103 (www.galerie103.com) occupies 2,400 square feet space at Kukui'ula Village: 1,800 of which is devoted to the art gallery and 600 to an annex of modern and contemporary works on paper, art objects, fiber art and art books. The gallery features contemporary art reflective of the island's unique environment, past and present.
The art at GALERIE 103 has no boundaries, thereby challenging misconceptions about regionalism and ethnic origin. With the importance of global environmental issues, Hawai'i has become one of the centers of conceptual awareness and critical debate, especially about global environmental issues, but also about other matters shaping human destiny. GALERIE 103 seeks to expand general public awareness that Hawaiian art is "merely" focused on the celebration of natural beauty.
