New Course: An Introduction to Etching with Katy Goutefangea.

During this workshop you will be given a hands-on introduction to etching on zinc. You will be shown how to make your own prints using a variety of techniques under the guidance of an experienced tutor. Etching is a medium with a long and varied history and can produce prints with great detail, richness and texture. The aim of this workshop is to give you an idea of the possibilities of the medium and a thorough introduction to hard and soft ground (line, pattern and texture) and aquatint (tone or shade).

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience. All materials will be provided. Oil-based inks and some solvents will be used in this workshop.

Katy Goutefangea is a printmaker and practising visual artist living and working in London. She has many years of  printmaking experience and has been teaching art workshops since 2008. As well as printing her own projects she works on commissions for outside clients and artists.
