Michael Rieder's sculpture exhibit, "Traditional Postures" plays on the fine line between the individual and the collective, the unique and the crowd. In this current sculpture collection the artist observes the ambiguities the tensions that arise from them. Through them he searches for the "essence" to understand the existence. In combining contrasting materials: copper, steel, wood, fiber and sponge while using complex shaping and carving techniques, he creates figurative sculptures that are a mix of the noble and the everyday. Through the blurring of boundaries, in his asexual and at the same time sensual sculptures, Michael Rieder relates to the duality that assembles our world.
