Training Sculpture is the title of new series of video by Berlin artist Marisa Marza that deals with the relationship between space, gender and the body in the context of sports.

Maza's videos, developed with female athletes of the University of Florida, USA in 2008, against the backdrop of the Olympics, show a scenery far from the common media coverage that usually just show the end result of a long process of excercise. The artist instead focuses on the training situation in order to reveal the imperfections, the endless repetition, the physical work that precedes the contest situation.
