Anni Holm, born in Randers, Denmark, is a young conceptual artist that primarily works in the media of photography/digital imaging and performance art. She has been in the United States since 1999, and in that time has earned her BFA in Photography from Columbia College in Chicago, participated in several group and solo exhibitions both in Denmark and in the U.S., and spearheaded an international artist-in-residency program in Chicago, her current home.
The work on display at the museum includes her Immigration Project, which is a series of photos taken of international students. The images have been digitally altered so that each student's thumb print is used thousands of times to create the details. Also included is a work called "Plasti-City," a piece knitted out of the plastic bags that some printer cartridges come in.
Visitors may take part in one of Anni's projects, and can even leave suggestions for future projects.
