> DESCRIPTION

In conjunction with the recent acquisition of Robert Ferrandini’s painting, “Here the eye ultimately composes itself…”, Danforth Art is pleased to present a series of works highlighting how the artist’s unique approach to landscape painting has developed and changed over the course of his career—particularly since a 2001 stroke deprived him of the use of his right hand and arm, and he learned to paint with his left. In the tradition of the Hudson River School, Ferrandini focuses on the intricate usage of light, with often fantastical results, producing landscapes that are luscious, complex, and somewhat haunted.
