The exhibition is a response to Brigitta Varadi's recent four week Art Residency at ChaNorth, Chashama, Pine Plain, New York. Each work acts as a memory capsule, capturing light and colors of a particular moment, expressing the vitality and the richness of the rural American countryside.'
Hungarian born, Brigitta has made her home on the beautiful Iron Mountains in Leitrim, a landscape that continually informs and inspires her work. She exhibits internationally and her work is found in many private and public collections across Europe. The distinctive wall piece that graces the main atrium at the Department of Education and Science Office in Athlone, is typical of the site-specific installations for which Brigitta is known. Her work 'Here and Now' shows a more intimate side of her practice.
Residency was supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Chashama, New York
