> DESCRIPTION

Anna Ticho spent her youth in Vienna, where she studied art from 1908 to 1912, the year of her immigration to Jerusalem. This exhibition presents the material culture of the period – her formative years – including furniture and decorative housewares typical of the 19th century; paintings by Vienna Secession artists (Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele); and objects by Austrian designers Michael Thonet, Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann, and those associated with the Wiener Werkstatte. Ticho’s work of the same period is also on display, as well as later artworks clearly influenced by the Viennese style.
