> DESCRIPTION

Cally Spooner (1983, lives and works in London) examines, in her work, how various forms of performance has an effect on language. She often uses professional actors in her performances, which are formally recognizable from other genres (theatre, cabaret, concert etc.) but which challenge these genres linguistically. For POST at Charlottenborg, she shows the work Seven Thirty Till Eight in which a singer will perform a series of "classic" popular songs, but with new lyrics concerning the ideas of ‘work’, written on the basis of the German philosopher Hannah Arendt"s theories.
