Having trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, I travelled to Australia where I raised a family and studied interior and graphic design. But my love for painting never diminished and, slowly, I returned to the rediscovery of the joys and smells of oil paint and its application to canvas.
Landscapes inspire me and the colours of the Red Centre are truly magical. It is this I explored in my first solo exhibition, Different Paths, at Tacit Contemporary Art towards the end of 2011. But the more I looked, the more I loved the everyday landscapes of Victoria - the coastal paths, the snowy alpine fields. But I am not looking for representational imagery in my works. As I became more and more immersed in the joys of using the medium, I looked for a series of marks and simplifying the world around me with swathes of line and colour.
