Jeannette Ehlers présente trois vidéos pour son exposition intitulée BLACK BULLETS dans le Bunker. Ehlers adopte les techniques de manipulation numérique de l’image dans son travail photographique et vidéographique pour signaler les termes changeables et permutables qui entourent les significations de l’identité. Jeannette Ehlers est d’origine danoise et trinidadienne. Son travail récent aborde le sujet de la traite d’esclaves au Danemark pendant l’ère coloniale. À travers ses vidéos et photographies numériques Ehlers explore et expose les sujets des esclave, particulièrement la traite négrière transatlantique et l’identité noire. Ses derniers vidéos Black Bullets, Off the Pig et The March (2012) ont été filmés à Haïti et sont inspirés de la révolution haïtienne. Ces œuvres sont un hommage à la révolution et la révolte.

Jeannette Ehlers vit et travaille à Copenhague, Danemark. Elle a gradué à la Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts en 2006. Son travail fut exposé dans plusieurs expositions publiques et privées telles : C & H Art Space, Amsterdam, Pays-Bas ; CBK, Zuidoost, Amsterdam, Pays-Bas ; Museau Del Barrio, New York, É.-U. ; ISCP, New York, É.-U. ; Kianga Ellis projets, Santa Fe, É.-U. ; Cartel Gallery Londres, G-B ; Total Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea; Nikolaj Copenhagen Contemporary Art Center, Cph, Danemark, BRAENNEN Gallery, Berlin, Germany, et  Image 10, Vevey, en Suisse.

Jeannette Ehlers presents three videos for BLACK BULLETS in the Bunker. Ehlers adopts image manipulation as a mechanism for her photographic and video based work as these changeable terms allow meaning and identity to be explored. Jeannette Ehlers is of Danish and Trinidadian descent. Recent works all revolve around the Danish slave trade in the colonial era. In her work Ehlers focuses on the transatlantic slave trade, blackness and black identity. Her latest video works, Black Bullets, Off the Pig and The March (2012) were filmed on location in Haiti and were inspired by the Haitian revolution. The works are presented as an homage to revolution and the act of revolt.

Born in 1973, Ehlers is currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2006.She has exhibited her work at C&H Art Space, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, CBK, Zuidoost, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Museo Del Barrio, New York, USA, ISCP, New York, US, Kianga Ellis projects, Santa Fe, US,  Cartel Gallery London,  England, The Total Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea,  Nikolaj Copenhagen Contemporary Art Center, Cph, Denmark, BRAENNEN Gallery, Berlin, Germany, and  Image 10, Vevey, Switzerland.
