This exhibition demonstrates once more what great scholar of experiment Birgit Jürgenssen was. Approximately twenty examples will illustrate a working period of only six years, which document in a dreamy quality the reversed movement of floating time.
Photography joins with silk, voile, gauze and evolves a hypnotic appeal. Elements of the fantastic commence their own life. An idiosyncratic timidity to abandon herself as a soulful artist closes the view to the chamber of the heart. Still it remains abundantly clear, fabric and photography tension new rooms, frigorific fire … elegance.
Birgit Jürgenssen (1949-2003) was an Austrian artist.
