> DESCRIPTION

Linda Graves began her career in illustration after studying fine art at San Jose University. Her early work was focused in illustration for advertisements, cards and posters but she soon found her true calling with children’s books. In 1989 she illustrated her first children’s book The Wise Woman and Her Secret by Eve Merriam. This project launched her career into book illustration- a career that has now included the illustration of over forty children’s books. Her newest illustrations are featured in the book Sister Bear, written by renowned children’s book author Jane Yolen. The book, based on a Norse legend, tells the story of a young girl and bear cub who travel through Denmark to meet the king, encountering hungry, evil trolls on their way. Linda Graves’ illustrations are included in collections in the United States, England, Holland and Germany and her beautifully detailed, delicate work continues to attract international attention. She is a member of the Western Massachusetts Illustrators Guild and lives with her husband in Otis, MA.
