> DESCRIPTION
LURE, is Matt Mattus's first solo museum exhibition. The artists creates an entirely new site specific installation which is a visual reflection upon the idea of the term 'Lure'. The different sections of the installation conjure up various "lures', whether the viewer is confronted with a life-size pair of Hammerhead sharks, freezer cases housing salmon eggs or cherry ice, all of these objects explore different levels of being lured. The piece develops the thesis that nobody can escape the trappings of temptation. This exhibition is made possible by the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Boston Phoenix, BankBoston, and the Worcester Art Museum Members Council. |
