Neon signs have lit up big cities all over the world for a hundred years. Ever since the first neon sign was installed in Paris in 1912, letters formed in glass have promoted everything from washing powder to live shows. Today the nostalgic material is also used by artists who transform the light tubes to installations and sculptural works of art.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Neon from 1st December Glasmuseet Ebeltoft will present works of art in neon by a handful of international artists working with glass.
