Statewide juried photographic exhibition organized and toured by the Alaska State Museum. Now in its 40th year, Alaska Positive is the State Museum's biennial photography competition open to entrants from across the State. Its purpose is to encourage the practice of photography as an art form in Alaska. Juror Holly Andres has had solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, Istanbul, Turkey, and Portland Oregon, where she lives and works. Her juror's lecture will be on October 17 at 7 p.m. at the State Museum. She will also present a lecture in Anchorage at the University of Alaska Anchorage Arts Building, room 116 at 7 p.m.
